Moscow: The President of Al-Mustansiriya University, Safaa Taqi Al-Issawi, represented Iraq at the First World Peoples’ Summit in Moscow. The summit, which began on Saturday, included global university leaders, notable academic and cultural figures, as well as representatives from international organizations focused on education and peace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Issawi, in his address, emphasized education as a key to fostering peace and understanding among nations. He pointed out that Iraqi universities are working to regain their historical significance by engaging with global experiences and forming effective academic partnerships.

During the summit, Al-Issawi engaged in discussions with several university presidents to explore opportunities for cooperation and the exchange of expertise. He also underscored recent advancements at Al-Mustansiriya University, which include curriculum improvements and the enhancement of international collaborations.

Al-Issawi concluded by delivering a message of peace on behalf of Iraq to the global community, affirming Iraq’s enduring legacy as a cradle of civilizations and human thought. He highlighted the commitment of Iraqi universities to continue serving as beacons of knowledge and channels for dialogue and communication.
