BAGHDAD: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid lauded the significant contributions of religious scholars in fostering tolerance, brotherhood, and stability in Iraq during a meeting with the Council of Iraqi Scholars at the Baghdad Palace.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, held on Tuesday, served as a platform for President Rashid to express his appreciation towards the Council of Iraqi Scholars, led by Sheikh Mahmoud Abdul Aziz Al-Ani. The President highlighted the scholars’ pivotal role in disseminating core values such as acceptance and tolerance, which he deemed crucial for the nation’s stability.
The discussions also covered societal challenges, particularly those impacting the youth, such as drug abuse and extremism. Both sides exchanged views on strengthening the moral fabric and noble societal values of Iraq.
