President of Iraq Emphasizes Strengthening Ties with Qatar


Baghdad: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the importance of strengthening relations between Iraq and Qatar, noting that “Iraq, with its rich cultural heritage, looks forward to various partnerships with its brothers and friends.”



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency’s Media Office stated that “President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, at the Baghdad Palace, the Minister of Culture of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakak Al-Badrani.”



During the meeting, the President emphasized “the importance of strengthening relations between Iraq and Qatar,” highlighting the cultural movement as a path leading to rapprochement between the two brotherly countries. He reiterated that “Iraq, with its rich cultural heritage, looks forward to various partnerships with its brothers and friends.”



For his part, Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani conveyed the greetings of the Qatari leadership to the President of the Republic. He noted that his visit to Baghdad comes within the framework of keenness to consolidate the cultural partnership with Iraq and to continue joint coordination in organizing related events.
