President of Iraq Highlights Longstanding Peaceful Coexistence Among Iraqis


Baghdad: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized the enduring peaceful coexistence among Iraqis, highlighting that their shared commonalities have been a testament to harmony in Iraq for thousands of years. A presidential statement detailed that President Rashid made these remarks during a meeting at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad with a group of Chaldean and Assyrian Christians from the Iraqi community residing in the United States of America.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Rashid underscored that the diversity of religions within Iraq serves to enhance mutual respect among all communities. He reiterated that the shared commonalities among Iraqis are a reflection of the country’s long history of peaceful coexistence. The President also praised Iraqi Christians for their significant contributions to the nation-building process and their role in strengthening the social fabric of Iraq. He emphasized that the welfare of Iraqis living abroad is a priority for the Presidency of the Republic, aiming to ensure they receive optimal services.



The delegation members expressed their happiness at meeting with President Rashid and thanked him for his concern regarding the conditions of Iraqis in the United States. They conveyed their eagerness to enhance communication with relevant government agencies in areas such as economy, culture, and technology, in a way that supports Iraq’s development and progress.
