Seville: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, discussed with the Sudanese President ways to strengthen bilateral relations. The Presidency said in a statement, “As part of the President’s participation in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development held in the Spanish city of Seville, President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid met today, Monday, June 30, 2025, with the President of the Republic of Sudan, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on bilateral relations between Iraq and Sudan in areas of common interest. The President emphasized the need to end the fighting and problems throughout Sudan and urged the Sudanese President to work towards consolidating security and stability in Sudan. He highlighted the importance of strengthening relations and expanding their horizons to drive development and prosperity in both countries.
The statement further detailed that the President of the Republic addressed the stability Iraq is experiencing at the security and political levels, along with its relations with neighboring countries and the world. This stability is seen as a platform to expand cooperation in all fields.
During the meeting, discussions also covered the work of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development and its objectives, which aim to implement sustainable development plans and reduce poverty.
President Al-Burhan affirmed Sudan’s commitment to strengthening relations with Iraq and opening new avenues for cooperation in various fields, as well as coordinating on all issues of common interest.
