Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid underscored the importance of serious and constructive dialogue between Iraq and Turkey to address outstanding issues, particularly the water file, stressing the need to ensure Iraq’s fair share of water resources. He also highlighted the necessity of activating mechanisms for cooperation and coordination to benefit from shared expertise and experiences in this vital sector.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Presidency said that President Rashid received Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, today at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad. The meeting focused on bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them, with the President emphasizing the importance of boosting security, economic, and trade cooperation in a manner that promotes regional stability and serves the mutual interests of both neighboring nations.
For his part, Ambassador Inan expressed his appreciation to the President for his support in advancing bilateral ties, reaffirming Turkey’s keenness to deepen friendship and cooperation with Iraq across all fields.
