President Offers Condolences on Martyrdom of Popular Mobilization Forces Fighters

Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid offered his condolences on the martyrdom of a number of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) fighters. During a phone call with PMF Chairman Faleh al-Fayyad on Thursday, the President emphasized that “these attacks violate the country’s sovereignty and undermine security and stability.” He noted that the PMF is an essential part of the Iraqi security apparatus and plays a significant role in defending the homeland and confronting terrorism, expressing his deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs in this tragic incident.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President also stressed “the necessity of national unity during this critical time and working together to protect Iraq’s security and stability, and to prevent the country from being dragged into conflicts that threaten the higher interests of the nation and its citizens.” For his part, Faleh al-Fayyad expressed his appreciation for the President’s supportive stance in protecting the country’s security and stability, ensuring the safety of its citizens, and working towards national unity and the consolidation of social and civil peace.
