Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid held a meeting with Patrick Durel, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Iraq, to discuss recent regional and international developments. The discussions took place at Al-Salam Palace, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Iraq and France.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Presidency issued a statement emphasizing the discussion's focus on strengthening cooperation across various fields to bolster bilateral relations. The meeting covered recent regional and international developments and explored mechanisms to improve coordination between Iraq and France on mutual interests, including efforts to promote stability and reduce regional tensions. President Rashid acknowledged France's supportive stance on the Palestinian cause during the discussions.
Ambassador Durel also offered his condolences to President Rashid on the passing of his brother, Shamal Jamal Rashid. In response, President Rashid expressed his gratitude for the ambassador's gesture and requested that his greetings and best wishes for continued progress and prosperity be conveyed to President Emmanuel Macron and the French people.
