Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mahmoud Al-Mashhadani, engaged in discussions concerning the general situation in the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a presidential statement outlined that President Rashid received Speaker Al-Mashhadani to deliberate on both national issues and regional and international developments. The discussions emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation between the Presidency of the Republic and the Council of Representatives, particularly in reviewing and approving draft laws that ensure the rights of citizens.

Al-Mashhadani expressed gratitude to President Rashid for his role in fostering political stability and safeguarding citizens’ rights. He highlighted the Council’s commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities in a way that serves the supreme interests of Iraq and its populace.
