President Rashid Highlights Iraq’s Commitment to Joint Arab Action with Arab Parliament Session in Baghdad

Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed that the convening of the Arab Parliament's general session in Baghdad reflects Iraq's commitment to supporting joint action. A presidential statement said: "The President of the Republic received, today, Thursday, at the Baghdad Palace, the Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament, Ahmed Al-Safadi, and his accompanying delegation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, at the beginning of the meeting, the President welcomed the delegation, stressing the importance of strengthening communication and coordination between the Iraqi and Jordanian parliaments, exchanging expertise and visits, as well as the need to develop relations in areas of common interest to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and constructive cooperation.

Rashid addressed the situation in the region, stressing the need to end conflicts and tensions at the regional and international levels and work to consolidate security and stability. He affirmed Iraq's supportive stance towards the Palestinian people in achieving their legitimate rights to establish an independent state.

The President of the Republic praised the convening of the Arab Parliament's general session in Baghdad, stressing that this initiative embodies the strong ties that bind Iraq to its brothers and reflects Iraq's keenness to support the path of joint action.

Members of the visiting delegation affirmed the desire of Jordan, both government and people, to strengthen relations between the two brotherly countries and enhance cooperation in all fields.
