Baku: The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, engaged in a discussion with Mafalda Duarte, the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), at his residence in Baku, Azerbaijan. The meeting, which coincided with the President’s participation in the United Nations Climate Summit (COP29), focused on global efforts to tackle climate change.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Rashid emphasized that COP29 offers a crucial opportunity to enhance international collaboration in mitigating the risks posed by climate change on various aspects of life. He highlighted the significance of aligning visions in partnership with the Green Climate Fund to safeguard the environment. The President outlined the government’s key measures to address climate change challenges, including fulfilling commitments under the Climate Agreement, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and transitioning towards renewable energy.
