Baghdad: President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid affirmed that the upcoming summit will address crucial issues concerning the peoples of the region, aiming to issue decisions that contribute to achieving peace and stability. A presidential statement highlighted President Rashid’s meeting with the official media delegation of the League of Arab States at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President welcomed the delegation, expressing hopes that their work will strengthen brotherhood and solidarity among the region’s peoples, thereby consolidating political, security, and economic stability. Rashid emphasized Baghdad’s pivotal role as the host of this summit, which aims to foster joint efforts to tackle regional challenges and enhance cooperation among Arab nations.
The President underscored the media’s critical role in bridging communication between the public and policymakers, as well as informing the public about strategies aimed at achieving sustainable development and regional aspirations for prosperity and peace. He reiterated Iraq’s support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state.
Addressing other regional issues, President Rashid stressed the importance of respecting the will of the Syrian people and strengthening mutual relations with Syria. He expressed optimism for the success of negotiations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States. Furthermore, he highlighted the need to resolve conflicts in Sudan and Yemen, affirming Iraq’s support for stability and peace in both countries.
President Rashid also highlighted the current stability in Iraq and the development of its international and regional relations. He urged media professionals to accurately portray Iraq’s security stability and societal coexistence, and to communicate the steps taken towards consolidating democracy and human rights.
