Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid called on all Syrian parties on Thursday to exercise restraint, return to the negotiating table, and address their problems peacefully.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President expressed his concern over the ongoing tensions and violence in the neighboring Syrian city of Aleppo. He emphasized the importance of restraint and dialogue, urging all parties involved to refrain from violence and work towards stopping the clashes, which he noted do not benefit anyone.
The President reiterated his commitment to peaceful solutions that promote coexistence and acceptance among different groups. He highlighted the interconnectedness of all components of the Syrian population and insisted that peace and dialogue must be the sole approach to resolving the current crisis, which otherwise risks leading to more civilian casualties, including women and children.
