Diyala: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid called on local officials and political forces in Diyala Governorate to cooperate and unite in the service of the people of the province. During his meeting with Diyala Governor Adnan Al-Shammari, his two deputies, and representatives and members of the Diyala Council at the beginning of his visit to the province, Rashid stressed the need for everyone to assume their responsibilities in resolving the administrative issues facing the province and serving its people in a manner befitting and commensurate with their aspirations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President noted that Diyala has faced significant challenges in the past, particularly from terrorism, which attempted to threaten civil peace but failed due to the steadfastness of its people. He emphasized the importance of continuing efforts to enhance security and stability in the province and to consolidate the values of peaceful coexistence, highlighting Diyala as a miniature Iraq representing the various components and spectrums of the Iraqi people.
Diyala Governor Adnan Al-Shammari expressed his appreciation for the President’s visit, acknowledging his dedication to understanding the needs of the province’s people. Al-Shammari provided a detailed overview of the province’s current situation, outlining the primary challenges and the administration’s vision to overcome them, advance the province, and serve its residents.
Representatives and members of the Diyala Governorate’s local council also expressed gratitude for the President’s visit, recognizing it as significant moral support for the governorate’s people. They emphasized the importance of their commitment to collaborative efforts with the local administration to improve the province’s situation, enhance stability and social cohesion, and address the needs of its people.
