Baghdad: President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid emphasized the urgent need for the international community to end the suffering of the Palestinian people caused by the ongoing aggression against Gaza and to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians in the Strip.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the President received Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Glenn Miles, on Thursday at Baghdad Palace, where the two discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance cooperation.
During the meeting, President Rashid reaffirmed Iraq’s commitment to strengthening ties with Australia in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries. He also stressed the importance of joint coordination and collaboration to promote regional security and stability and to reduce tensions that threaten international peace.
For his part, Ambassador Miles expressed his country’s appreciation for its relations with Iraq, reaffirming Australia’s continued support and its eagerness to expand cooperation on issues of mutual concern.
