Tehran: President Nizar Amidi met today in Tehran with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian. During the meeting, President Amidi conveyed the condolences of the Iraqi people to the Iranian people on the martyrdom of Sayyid Ali Khamenei, as well as other leaders, officials, and citizens. President Pezeshkian expressed gratitude for Amidi's attendance at the funeral ceremonies and congratulated him on his recent election as President of the Republic of Iraq.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Amidi highlighted the deep historical, social, and cultural ties between Iraq and Iran, underscoring the need for joint efforts to enhance and develop these relations.
