New york: President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, met with President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, at the United Nations headquarters in New York. The meeting was part of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for joint cooperation between Iraq and Azerbaijan. The leaders exchanged views on various regional and international issues and emphasized the importance of coordinating their positions on matters addressed in the United Nations agenda.
President Rashid reiterated Iraq's commitment to building balanced partnerships and opening new avenues for cooperation that promote security and stability, benefiting the peoples of the region. President Aliyev, in turn, expressed his appreciation for Iraq's efforts in promoting international peace and security, highlighting Azerbaijan's desire to expand cooperation and enhance the partnership with Iraq.
