Cairo: President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi stressed the importance of supporting Arab cooperation mechanisms to confront current challenges.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Presidency of the Republic detailed that during the emergency Arab Summit, President Rashid met with President El-Sisi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati, and other officials from the Egyptian Presidency. The discussions focused on developing bilateral relations and expanding joint cooperation to benefit the two nations and enhance constructive integration across various fields. The leaders emphasized the need to support Arab cooperation mechanisms in confronting ongoing challenges.

The meeting also addressed the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip. The two presidents discussed the repercussions of the worsening humanitarian conditions, the failure of the occupying entity to adhere to truce agreements, and the importance of preparing for the second phase of negotiations. They emphasized stopping aggression, protecting civilians, and ensuring the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid.

The meeting saw the participation of several notable figures, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government Qubad Talabani, Iraq’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Qahtan al-Janabi, and Advisor to the President of the Republic Mustafa Ghaleb Makhif.
