Basra: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a meeting today with representatives from various oil companies and subcontractors engaged in oil projects within the Basra Governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s media office released a statement indicating that during the meeting, al-Sudani received a comprehensive overview of the current operations, highlighting significant obstacles and challenges impacting the companies and subcontractors. The focus was on projects and licensing contracts.
Al-Sudani instructed the preparation of an in-depth study to analyze the nature of these challenges. He also set plans for an upcoming meeting next week, which will include representatives from all relevant ministries and sectors. Subcontractors or their representatives will also attend this meeting. The objective is to compile a list of the most significant challenges, discuss them thoroughly with ministry representatives, and develop solutions for the Prime Minister’s approval.
