Prime Minister Al-Sudani Calls for Increased Projects Across Sectors in Iraq


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani highlighted the necessity for increased projects in various sectors across Iraq, emphasizing achievements already made throughout the nation.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani’s remarks came during a visit to Sheikh Riyadh Younis Al-Hamidawi’s guest house in the Zayouna area in central Baghdad, where he met with several sheikhs and dignitaries of the Al-Hamid clan.



The meeting focused on the service conditions in Baghdad and the government’s ongoing efforts to improve social and service conditions for its citizens. Al-Sudani expressed gratitude to Sheikh Al-Hamidawi for his hospitality and underscored the crucial role that tribes play in supporting the state and its institutions. He called on officials to prioritize public interest and the welfare of the populace.



Al-Sudani also referenced the upcoming parliamentary elections set for November 11, noting the significant impact the results will have on Iraq’s future for the next four years. He expressed confidence in the public’s awareness and their understanding of the importance of participating in these elections.



Discussing the government’s achievements, Al-Sudani mentioned reforms executed in sectors like banking and economics, recognized by international bodies. He projected a 15 to 20-year timeline for reconstruction projects across Iraq, covering all services, and highlighted efforts to promote development in agriculture, industry, trade, and infrastructure, including the significant development of the port of Faw.



Al-Sudani stressed the need for economic diversification to achieve stability, moving beyond dependency on oil. He pointed out the importance of creating job opportunities for the youth, who make up 60% of Iraq’s population. Concluding his remarks, Al-Sudani emphasized Iraq’s commitment to its people’s interests and its ability to navigate regional crises responsibly.
