Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ al-Sudani chaired the sixth regular session of the Cabinet for 2026, focusing on the nation’s general situation and making critical decisions on various agenda topics.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s office issued a statement highlighting the Cabinet’s ongoing discussions on decisions and steps previously approved by the Ministerial Council for the Economy. These measures aim to maximize revenues, reduce expenditures, and bolster the national economy across different sectors. The session also involved reviewing the ministries’ procedures to ensure market stability and the availability of goods and services for citizens.

In efforts to enhance revenue and diversify exports, the Cabinet ratified the Ministerial Council for the Economy’s recommendation regarding subsidies for petroleum products.
