Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani chaired a pivotal meeting of the Higher Committee for Reconstruction and Investment. The meeting covered significant topics concerning the investment landscape, emphasizing key projects and strategies.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office released a statement highlighting the discussions on various investment projects, leading to essential decisions and directives. The committee approved several projects across sectors including housing, electricity, the oil industry, and the pharmaceutical industry.
The meeting featured the Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities, focusing on the reconstruction and rehabilitation of heritage sites under the ministry’s purview. In a move aligning with the government’s strategy to boost local production, the committee approved the establishment of a pharmaceutical factory in Mosul, as briefed by the Governor of Nineveh. This initiative is part of a broader plan to support commercial and residential developments within the governorate.
The Director General of the General Company for Electricity Transmission/Central Region participated in the meeting to elaborate on plans for ensuring electricity supply to new residential complexes in Baghdad and surrounding areas. The discussion revolved around an economic model designed to maintain efficient distribution and continuous power supply.
