Prime Minister Al-Sudani Pledges Support for Farmers’ Needs


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has affirmed the government’s commitment to addressing the demands of farmers and extending assistance across various areas.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s media office released a statement detailing a recent meeting where Al-Sudani engaged with Walid Hamad al-Kraiti, the Chairman of the General Union of Agricultural Cooperatives, along with Imad Makrud al-Badri, the Vice-Chairman of the Union and Chairman of the Executive Office. During this meeting, the Prime Minister listened attentively to the concerns related to farmers’ operations, addressed their requests, and explored the necessary facilities to ensure a successful agricultural season.



The statement further emphasized Al-Sudani’s commitment to aligning the farmers’ demands with the Council of Ministers for decision-making that supports the agricultural sector. This initiative is part of a broader governmental approach aimed at enhancing the non-oil economy, boosting GDP, and contributing to food security.
