Prime Minister Al-Zaidi Chairs Meeting to Enhance Service Preparations for Arbaeen Pilgrimage

Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired an expanded meeting of the Service Committee for the Multimillion-Pilgrims events today, focusing on service preparations for the upcoming Arbaeen of Imam Hussein.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed the logistical and service aspects required to accommodate the millions of pilgrims expected to visit the holy governorate of Karbala. Prime Minister Al-Zaidi emphasized the need to surpass the quality of services provided in previous years, ensuring a smooth pilgrimage experience. He highlighted the necessity of evaluating ground conditions to identify essential requirements, thereby demonstrating governmental authority and boosting public confidence.

In his directives, Al-Zaidi called for a comprehensive plan to organize the pilgrimage, focusing on transportation and the return journey of pilgrims. This involves securing a sufficient number of vehicles through coordination with various ministries, government bodies, and local authorities across the governorates. Additionally, he stressed the provision of essential services such as electricity, fuel, medical aid, telecommunications, and media coverage for the Husseini processions.

To further facilitate the pilgrimage, the Prime Minister instructed that border crossings be managed effectively to ensure smooth entry for Arab and foreign pilgrims, thereby reflecting positively on the government’s efforts and the country’s image.
