Prime Minister Al-Zaidi Reaffirms Commitment to Strengthening Iraq’s State-Building Efforts


Baghdad:The Prime Minister praised the tribes’ support for maintaining order during challenging times and emphasized that no one will be allowed to weaken the state or threaten its existence.



According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s media office issued a statement that Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi met with several tribal sheikhs and dignitaries. During the meeting, he highlighted the government’s success in avoiding international isolation and expanding global partnerships. He underscored the focus on establishing a successful economic identity through program-based budgeting, particularly in enhancing electricity infrastructure.



Al-Zaidi expressed confidence in progressing toward a robust state that instills pride in Iraqis. He criticized the notion of exploiting the state for individual gain at the expense of the Iraqi people, emphasizing the need for beneficial international partnerships, especially with economically advanced nations. The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of attracting foreign investment and advocated for the withdrawal of all foreign forces from Iraq.



By 2031, Iraq aims to boost its oil production to 10 million barrels per day. The government has established the Future Generations Fund, allocating IQD 1.5 trillion to it, with plans to add recovered funds from anti-corruption efforts. Discussions with Turkey and Kuwait are ongoing, focusing on resolving military and bilateral issues, respectively.



Five factions have agreed to disarm, with three already surrendering their weapons. Dialogue with the remaining groups continues. Al-Zaidi emphasized the responsibility to prevent bloodshed and pledged IQD 500 billion monthly for farmers’ payments. The government plans to complete the One Million Residential Land Plots Project and initiate new city developments in each province.



The Prime Minister called for unity to preserve Iraq’s history and maintain decision-making within the country. He emphasized the goal of shielding Iraq from regional conflicts and ensuring societal stability.
