Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi is set to embark on an official visit to Turkey tomorrow, heading a high-level delegation to engage in key discussions with Turkish officials.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, government spokesperson Haider al-Aboudi stated that the visit follows an invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The delegation’s agenda in Ankara includes addressing strategic cooperation on economic, trade, investment, security, and military matters, as well as discussing the regional crisis and its developments that concern both nations.

Al-Aboudi emphasized that the water issue will be a primary focus during the visit. Discussions will revolve around understandings related to the Iraqi-Turkish framework agreement, with particular attention to the energy sectors and the Development Road project. The aim is to facilitate the project’s implementation, benefiting both Iraq and Turkey.
