Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi Receives Invitation to Visit Jordan

Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi received an official invitation to visit Jordan on Thursday.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's Media Office issued a press release stating that Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zaidi hosted a ministerial delegation from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The delegation was led by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Ya'rub Falah al-Qudah, and included the Ministers of Energy and Mineral Resources, Transport, and Investment. The meeting was also attended by Iraq's Minister of Industry and Minerals, the Head of the Arab Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq.

The press release highlighted that the meeting focused on several mutual interests, including the implementation of the Basra-Aqaba oil pipeline project, facilitating visa procedures for businesspeople in both countries, and enhancing cooperation in sectors such as industry, energy, transport, and investment.

Prime Minister al-Zaidi emphasized the historical and distinguished relations between Iraq and Jordan, stating that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a significant strategic partner for Iraq. He expressed the government's desire to elevate bilateral relations by increasing trade volume and expanding investment opportunities and economic cooperation.

Members of the Jordanian delegation conveyed greetings and congratulations from His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Jordanian Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan on the formation of the Iraqi government. They extended an official invitation for the Prime Minister to visit Jordan.

Ya'rub Al-Qudah affirmed Jordan's full support for Iraq, commending the progress made by Iraq in combating corruption, implementing economic reforms, and improving the investment climate, which contributes to strengthening the partnership between the two countries.
