Prime Minister and Emir of Qatar Call for Arab-Islamic Meeting on Zionist Aggression


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, have reached an agreement on the necessity of convening a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to address the Zionist aggression.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Media Office detailed a phone call between Prime Minister Al-Sudani and the Emir of Qatar. During the call, Al-Sudani conveyed Iraq’s condemnation of the aggression targeting Qatar, describing it as a violation of sovereignty, international law, and the UN Charter. He warned of the potential escalation of conflict and its threat to regional and international security.



The Prime Minister affirmed Iraq’s solidarity with Qatar, emphasizing the importance of a responsible international response to the aggression. The leaders agreed on the urgency of organizing a meeting of Arab and Islamic countries to deliberate on the issue.



Al-Sudani highlighted Iraq’s role as President of the Arab Summit, calling for an immediate gathering of Arab foreign ministers and proposing a meeting of Arab and Islamic leaders during the upcoming UN General Assembly in New York.



The Emir of Qatar expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Al-Sudani, acknowledging the strong bilateral relations between Iraq and Qatar and recognizing Iraq’s commitment to regional stability and security.
