Sulaymaniyah: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has declared that it is unacceptable for political competition to devolve into defamation and the concealment of facts regarding government performance. During his address at the Ninth Sulaymaniyah Forum, al-Sudani emphasized the importance of maintaining integrity in political discourse.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister highlighted significant achievements in infrastructure and energy sectors. He reported a reduction in the number of stalled inherited projects, which have decreased to fewer than 850 from thousands. Al-Sudani also announced the initiation of an ambitious production plan aimed at constructing power plants, marking Iraq’s first foray into solar, clean, and renewable energy projects.
The Prime Minister further confirmed that the cessation rate of gas flaring has surpassed 70 percent. This development is part of a broader commitment to enhance environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in Iraq.
Al-Sudani stressed that providing essential services and ensuring a decent standard of living for all Iraqis should transcend political and electoral agendas. He also highlighted the necessity for bold and comprehensive reforms to address Iraq’s ongoing challenges.
