Baghdad: Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi chaired the fourth regular session of the Ministerial Council for Energy for 2026, with all members of the Council in attendance.

According to Iraqi News Agency, during the session, the Council reviewed a financial study focused on the inputs and outputs of the petroleum products refining and distribution sectors. This study, prepared by the Economic Department at the Ministry of Oil, highlighted indicators and assessments aimed at enhancing the efficiency of sector management and improving its overall performance.

The Prime Minister has directed the preparation of advanced models for developing the oil sector. These models will be based on international best practices, with the goal of improving production, refining, and distribution processes. The initiative is expected to maximize revenues and increase the efficiency of resource investment. This move aligns with the government’s vision to develop the energy sector and bolster its role in supporting the national economy.
