Prime Minister Urges Quick Action on Land Transactions Under Resolution 320

Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani has urged governors to expedite procedures related to residential land transactions, emphasizing the importance of this initiative in regulating the population situation and ensuring citizens feel the state’s commitment to providing exceptional services and meeting their needs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister’s Media Office released a statement detailing Al-Sudani’s reception of a group of citizens who are beneficiaries of Cabinet Resolution 320 of 2022. During the meeting, the Prime Minister commended efforts to implement this resolution, which offers a solution to the issue of residential neighborhoods constructed on agricultural land. Al-Sudani stressed the necessity of completing transactions for beneficiaries, especially in Baghdad, where many legally constructed neighborhoods exist on agricultural land that lacks necessary services.

Al-Sudani highlighted the government’s exceptional efforts to convert land from agricultural to residential status and to distribute ownership deeds. In the presence of the Mayor of Baghdad, he noted that the government has facilitated the land transaction process by allowing citizens to pay 10% of the land sale amount upfront, with the remainder payable in installments over 20 years. This initiative grants citizens official deeds for their homes, which they have inhabited for years, thus offering them greater security and legal recognition.
