Brussels: International figures praised Iraq’s balanced policy. The Prime Minister’s Media Office said in a statement, “The North Atlantic Council session, which hosted Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani today, Monday, in the Belgian capital, Brussels, witnessed interventions and positions from representatives of ten NATO member states, including the United States, France, Turkey, the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Greece, Hungary, and Latvia. Some delegates also represented the positions of several other NATO member states.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement added, “The participants’ speeches included international praise for the Iraqi government’s policy and the efforts it is making to confront security challenges, especially the positions that have helped Iraq avoid the repercussions of the escalation witnessed in the region.”

The statement continued, “The most prominent aspects of these interventions and positions were: emphasizing the long-term partnership between the Atlantic Council member states and Iraq; recognizing Iraq as a fundamental pillar in promoting regional security and stability; commending Iraq’s role, balanced foreign policy, and management of regional events; applauding the Iraqi government’s success in building the defensive capabilities of its armed forces; emphasizing that a stable Iraq is a guarantee of regional security; and affirming the Atlantic Council countries’ commitment to supporting Iraq’s security, underscoring that Iraq today is a force for regional peace.”
