Progress Party Leader Addresses Coordination Framework: National Acceptance Needed for Nominating Prime Minister

Baghdad: The leader of the Progress Party, MP Mohammed al-Halbousi, urged the Coordination Framework to consider what he described as the necessary national acceptance for approving the nominee tasked with forming the government.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a post published on his official account on the X platform this evening, Monday, al-Halbousi wrote, "We await the decision of our brothers, the leaders of the Coordination Framework, regarding the nomination of the nominee for the next prime minister. We hope they will prioritize the unity and cohesion of all components of Iraqi society with the same, if not greater, commitment they show to the unity of the Framework itself. This can be achieved by ensuring the necessary national acceptance for approving the nominee and forming a strong government supported by all segments of the population, who aspire to a better future. We hope this will prevent a return to the painful days of crises, unrest, and strife that still haunt the minds of Iraqis and whose effects remain unresolved despite attempts to address them."
