Protest in Al-Zubair District Opposes Upcoming Elections


Al-zubair: Dozens of members of the Shiite National Movement organized a protest on Saturday evening in Al-Zubair district, west of Basra, expressing their refusal to participate in the upcoming electoral process. During the protest, they affirmed their commitment to boycotting the upcoming parliamentary elections, in line with the call of the movement’s leader, Muqtada al-Sadr.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the protesters called for adherence to the boycott and unification of ranks among members of society to fight corruption and the corrupt. The demonstration highlighted the movement’s stance against participation and aimed to encourage others to follow suit in rejecting the electoral process.
