HILLAH: Angry demonstrators in Hillah obstructed several main roads on Sunday, demanding the allocation of job grades. The protest saw numerous college graduates taking to the streets, blocking roads and main thoroughfares with tires as they voiced their demands for employment opportunities. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the protest was driven by a call for job allocations akin to those previously granted under exceptional circumstances. Participants in the demonstration expressed their dissatisfaction with the current employment situation and emphasized their need for job placements. The demonstrators cautioned that if their demands are not addressed, they would escalate their protest by organizing a sit-in and obstructing the highway that connects Babylon and Baghdad. The protest highlights ongoing tensions over employment opportunities in the region, as college graduates continue to seek equitable job distribution. The demonstrators' actions reflect broader concerns about job scarcity and the need for transparent allocation processes.
