Musayyib: Angry demonstrators stormed the Musayyib District Water Department building, north of Hillah, and expelled its employees in protest of the water scarcity.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the demonstrators expressed their frustration over the worsening water shortage that has plagued the district.
A NINA correspondent reported that the protesters took control of the building, expressing their anger by removing employees from the premises. The demonstrators' actions were driven by a growing discontent with the local authorities' handling of the water crisis affecting the area.
The correspondent further noted that the demonstrators proceeded to close down the department. They issued a warning, stating their intention to stage a sit-in and potentially block the highway if their demands for a resolution to the water scarcity issue were not addressed promptly.
