Baghdad: Protests have reignited in the city of Kut, with demonstrators gathering in front of the Wasit Provincial Council building to demand that the province be allocated its full share of electricity. The protests, which resumed on Friday evening, are centered around the demand for an increase in Wasit's electricity allocation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the demonstrators are calling for Wasit's electricity allocation to be increased to 1500 megawatts, up from the current 1200 megawatts. This increase is deemed necessary by the protesters to ensure improved electricity supply hours within the province.

The demonstrators, holding banners, have voiced their determination to continue the protests until their demands are met. They emphasize that receiving the full share of electricity is crucial for Wasit, and they are committed to maintaining pressure on authorities to address the supply situation.
