Putin Proposes Quick End to War in Iran During Call with Trump

Moscow: The Kremlin confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin presented several proposals to end the war in Iran quickly during a phone call with US President Donald Trump. Yuri Ushakov, an aide to the Russian president, stated that President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to discuss developments in the current international situation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Ushakov told reporters after the call between Putin and Trump: "Donald Trump called Vladimir Putin to discuss a number of very important issues related to the current developments in the international situation." The presidential aide explained that the dialogue between the two presidents was practical, frank, and constructive, noting that today's conversation lasted about an hour.

He said: "The focus was indeed on the situation surrounding the conflict with Iran and the ongoing bilateral negotiations on the Ukrainian issue, with the participation of representatives from the United States." He continued: "Putin presented several proposals to end the war in Iran quickly."

Ushakov added: "The US president indicated that, as previously agreed, this communication should take place regularly. Both leaders said they are ready for this." The US president also provided his assessment of the evolving situation in the context of the ongoing US-Israeli process during the conversation.

According to Ushakov, a very substantive exchange took place regarding the situation in Iran, and it was beneficial for the exchange of views. The Russian presidential aide explained that the two presidents also discussed the situation in Venezuela during their conversation, telling reporters, "The presidents also touched upon the issue of Venezuela, particularly in relation to the global oil market situation."
