Baghdad Russian President Vladimir Putin warned against the excessive and dangerous politicization of the nuclear energy sector in the world, stressing the right of all countries to equal opportunities in the peaceful exploitation of atomic energy.
“Today we see excessive politicization of everything related to the nuclear energy sector, and we count on your efforts to be able to reduce the tone of this rhetoric and normalize this area in our activity and cooperation, despite all the turbulence and complex processes taking place on the world stage.
The Russian President also stressed: “Russia has always supported the International Atomic Energy Agency, and so far attaches great importance to this support.”
He added, “We have always advocated for all countries to enjoy equal opportunities to obtain atomic energy and exploit it for peaceful purposes, and we are committed to the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons in the world.”
