Pyongyang: North Korean Deputy Foreign Minister Pak Myong-ho declared that the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is “merely a distant dream.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement published by the Korean Central News Agency, Pak said, “South Korea still fails to realize that its continued denial of North Korea’s status as a nuclear state demonstrates its unrealistic nature. No matter how many times it talks about denuclearization, it is a completely unrealistic dream.”

Earlier, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un emphasized his country’s unwavering commitment to ensuring its security and its readiness for “nuclear resistance.” He indicated that North Korea gives top priority to continuously strengthening its nuclear capabilities, describing it as an “unchanging duty.”

It should be noted that South Korean President Lee Jae-myung acknowledged on September 23, during his address to the United Nations General Assembly, that the denuclearization of North Korea was impossible in the short term, and called for a gradual solution to the problem.
