Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi chaired a meeting on Tuesday to discuss mechanisms for implementing the new Iraqi National Security Strategy. The meeting was attended by military and security leaders and advisors from the Prime Minister’s office.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Advisory stated in a press release that the meeting addressed mechanisms for implementing the new Iraqi National Security Strategy and adapting it to regional and international developments, in order to achieve the goals of sustainable security and stability domestically, as well as regionally and internationally.
The meeting comes in implementation of the government’s directives aimed at strengthening the security, stability, and prosperity of the state and protecting the security of its citizens, in light of the new security strategy.
Al-Aboudi emphasized that the new Iraqi National Security Strategy is a path that defines Iraq’s direction towards sustainable security and stability, while simultaneously outlining a clear future security strategy based on anticipated changes and possibilities. He noted that the strategy serves as a roadmap that defines the priorities of Iraqi national security.
