Tehran: Qatar’s Foreign Ministry disclosed that the country’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, has emphasized the necessity of reducing regional tensions during a meeting in Tehran with Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Jassim Al-Thani highlighted the importance of supporting peaceful solutions and preventing the imposition of military conflict consequences on the region’s populace. The meeting aimed to explore strategies for de-escalating tensions in West Asia, with both parties agreeing on the need to enhance diplomatic dialogue and cooperation among regional countries to secure stability.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry reiterated Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani’s firm support for resolving regional crises through peaceful means, asserting that security and stability in West Asia can be achieved solely through dialogue and diplomacy. The statement noted that both parties emphasized the collective responsibility of regional countries, with international coordination, to shield innocent people from the fallout of military and security conflicts.
The Qatari premier further stressed the importance of working with “brotherly and friendly countries” to address differences through diplomatic avenues and eschew confrontational methods, as articulated by the ministry.
