Reconstruction Ministry Sets Completion Date for Baghdad-Karbala Road

Baghdad: The Ministry of Construction and Housing announced on Saturday that the Baghdad-Karbala road rehabilitation project will be completed by the end of this year, noting that the completion rate has reached 68%, compared to 46% in the initial plan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director General of the Roads and Bridges Department, Ammar Adel Hussein, stated in a press release that “the Al-Dalla overpass will be completed by the end of next month,” explaining that the remaining work focuses on the overpass itself and its approaches, in addition to asphalt paving, lighting, and furnishing.

He clarified that the road is 21 km long and includes the construction of the 600-meter-long Al-Dalla overpass and the 646-meter-long Al-Musayyib overpass, as part of a project considered strategic for serving the millions of pilgrims.
