Karbala: 1,187 media professionals participated in covering the Arbaeen pilgrimage, as announced by the Media and Government Communications Department at Karbala Governor’s Office. The department reported the success of this year’s media plan, which saw significant involvement from local, Arab, and international media outlets.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the coverage was facilitated by 83 satellite channels, 23 live broadcast vehicles (SNG), and 33 ‘LiveU’ units. In addition, numerous field media teams worked tirelessly to deliver live coverage of the ceremonies to audiences worldwide. The total number of journalists, reporters, and technicians who traveled to Karbala reached 1,187, including 167 Arab and foreign journalists. Their efforts ensured that millions of viewers around the globe could witness the event live.
Over the past ten days, the visiting journalists have commended the effective coordination between security authorities and media institutions. They highlighted that the safe and
flexible working environment significantly contributed to the success of the coverage, reinforcing Karbala’s position as a global center for media coverage of religious events.
