Baghdad The religious authority, Muhammad Taqi al-Modrasi, warned of Iraq’s slide into the abyss of civil war.
He demanded in a statement: All the sons of Iraq to pray for God, the Prophet and his family to save Iraq from the consequences of such a war that will devastate everyone.
Al-Modrasi said that all officials should exercise the utmost restraint, and search seriously for ways to defuse unintended skirmishes.
He noted that the way to overcome the crisis can only be through serious dialogues with self-denial and giving up some narrow interests.
Al-Modrasi added: We are in one ship, and if it sank, none of us would have escaped death.
