Kufa: Religious leaders and academic elites have called for the establishment of a joint community alliance aimed at rejecting extremism and combating terrorism. This initiative would involve the collaboration of religious, security, and academic institutions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the University of Kufa recently hosted a conference under the theme “Peacebuilding Strategies in Confronting Extremism and Terrorism.” This event was attended by influential religious, academic, and community figures from different sects and religions. The goal was to promote dialogue and cooperation among various groups to address the growing challenges of extremism and terrorism.

University Media Officer Ammar Al-Kuwaiti stated that the conference was organized in collaboration with the Permanent National Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, which is affiliated with the Prime Minister’s Office, the Islamic University, and Imam Al-Kadhim College. The conference provided a platform for discussing scientific research presented by academics, aiming to apply this research in ways that positively impact society, addressing societal issues, and instilling values and morals across different sects as a guiding principle for future generations.
