Reopening of Joint Coordination Center Between Ministry of Interior and EU Mission in Iraq


Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior announced today the reopening of the Joint Coordination Center between the Ministry and the European Union Advisory Mission in Iraq. The event was marked by the presence of Minister of Interior Abdul-Amir Al-Shammari, Head of Mission Anders Vipari, and several dignitaries and security leaders.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister Al-Shammari emphasized the center’s significance as a symbol of the strong partnership between the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and European Union countries. He highlighted the relationship’s growth over the years, which has resulted in building professional security institutions that respect the law and human rights.



The Minister elaborated on the center’s history, noting its role in institutional cooperation through over 100 training and development workshops. These workshops, attended by thousands of Ministry personnel, focused on counterterrorism, organized crime, crisis management, and human rights.



He further stressed that the Ministry of Interior, guided by the Prime Minister, is committed to modern developments, professionalism, and accountability. The Ministry aims to address evolving security challenges, bolster citizens’ trust in security institutions, and uphold their dignity and rights.
