Karbala: Researchers from 12 countries are set to participate in the ‘Memory of Pain’ conference in Baghdad. The Preparatory Committee for the (Memory of Pain in Iraq) Conference announced that it has received research contributions from researchers representing 12 countries in addition to Iraq, to participate in the conference activities.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee indicated that the researchers who will participate are from Palestine, Egypt, Syria, Libya, Morocco, Lebanon, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Netherlands, in addition to the Islamic Republic of Iran and Nigeria. These countries will join researchers from the Republic of Iraq to contribute to the conference.
The conference will be held in cooperation with UNESCO for Genocide Prevention Studies at the College of Arts – University of Baghdad. It will also involve the Iraqi Center for Documenting Extremist Crimes affiliated with the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Holy Shrine, the Martyrs Foundation, the Political Prisoners Foundation, and the Supreme National Commission for Accountability and Justice. The event is scheduled for April 16-17, 2025.
