Gaza city: The death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has sharply risen, now standing at 61,776 martyrs with 154,906 wounded. The conflict, which began on October 7, 2023, has persisted despite international calls for peace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that in the last 24 hours, ambulance crews, civil defense personnel, and citizens transported 54 martyrs to hospitals, including four bodies recovered from beneath the rubble, along with 831 wounded individuals. The ministry highlighted that the death toll has increased significantly since the violation of the ceasefire agreement on March 18, now reaching 10,251 martyrs and 42,865 wounded.

The ministry further detailed that over the past 24 hours, 22 martyrs and 269 injured individuals seeking aid arrived at hospitals. This has escalated the total number of people killed in the struggle for survival to 1,881, with 13,863 injured. In addition, hospitals have reported four deaths due to famine and malnutrition within the past day, bringing the total number of starvation-related deaths to 239, including 106 children.

The ministry emphasized that many war victims remain trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings. Civil defense and ambulance crews face significant challenges in recovering these individuals due to ongoing targeting and a lack of necessary equipment.

The situation remains dire as Israel continues its military operations against Gaza, resulting in forced displacements and ignoring international pleas to cease hostilities and allow humanitarian aid into the region.
