River Police Recover Body of Drowned Boy in Tigris River Near Mosul


Baghdad: River police units have recovered the body of a boy who drowned while swimming in the Tigris River near the village of Al-Busayf, located south of Mosul. The boy, born in 2008, was found by rescue teams who acted swiftly after receiving the report of the incident.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a source from the Nineveh Police stated that the rescue teams commenced search operations immediately upon notification. They successfully located and recovered the boy’s body, which has since been transferred to the forensic medicine department for further legal procedures.



The source further mentioned that relevant authorities have opened an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.
